REP. ANDREWS SECURES $200,000 FOR DRUG AND VIOLENCE INTERVENTION PROGRAM

Genesis Counseling Center, Inc., in cooperation with the Office of the Camden County Prosecutor has been awarded $200,000 towards a drug, alcohol, and violence education, prevention, and intervention program – The Corridor Project. This unique program employs a professional interventionist to coordinate teams of educators, parents, and law enforcement personnel to identify, evaluate, and stop dangerous behavior.

It was my pleasure to locate this grant opportunity and provide support to Genesis Counseling and the Prosecutor’s grant application through the New Jersey Department of Human Services’ FY 2005 Protection & Prevention Initiative Program. I enlisted the support of my colleagues in the State Legislature because of my strong commitment to our most vulnerable populations who will primarily benefit from this grant. The Corridor Project’s collaborative approach will also engender a more tightly knit community. With this award, the Corridor Project is set to expand from Collingswood to Haddon Heights, Haddonfield, and Haddon Township.
