Amount Requested: $1,440,000
The funding will be used by the Jasper County Commissioners to rehabilitate County Road (CR) 1000 West from State Road 10 to CR 400 North. Activities that will be undertaken include design, engineering, environmental review, acquiring right-of-way, and the rehabilitation of the roadway. This project is regionally significant as CR 1000 West is a heavily used route for transporting agricultural goods throughout the Midwest as well as bio-energy products throughout the country. Roads that are safe and accessible throughout the year are imperative to the operation of these industries. Further, total emissions will be reduced significantly, as the need to stop and slow down to navigate these county roads will be eliminated.
