Amount Requested: $115,000
The funding will be used by the Newton County Board of Commissioners to rehabilitate Bridge #108, which was constructed in 1965. Bridge #108 is a two lane bridge made of concrete slab and abutments with steel trusses. The project will replace decaying stringers, clean and paint the steel trusses, and remove excess dead load. This rehabilitation project was recommended after the bridge was inspected on September 23, 2008.
