Magazine Focused on Minority Golfing Community Prints Interview With Congressman

Washington, DCA profile interview of Congressman Joe Baca (D-Rialto) appeared recently in the December, 2009, edition of The Green magazine.  The Green is a lifestyle and golf magazine focused on minority communities in the United States.

“I truly believe golf is a sport that helps us to learn valuable life lessons like honesty, integrity, and self-confidence,” said Rep. Baca.   “I thank The Green magazine for their dedication to expanding golf’s reach and promoting the sport in many of our underserved communities.  I will continue to advocate for the game and the values it brings to all Americans.”

Congressman Baca currently serves as a Member of the House Professional Sports Caucus, and Chair of the Caucus’ Golf Committee.  Last year, Congressman Baca introduced legislation to award golfing legend Arnold Palmer the Congressional Gold Medal, our nation’s highest civilian honor.  The legislation passed the House and Senate, and was signed into law by the President in September of 2009.
