Gingrey: $21 million for 411 Connector

in House Transportation Bill

Congressman Phil Gingrey (GA-11) announced today that $21 million for the 411 Connector was included in the Transportation Equity Act, which passed the House by a vote of 417 to 9.

“I’m thrilled the funding was included in this year’s House transportation bill,” said Gingrey.  “The 411 Connector has been my number one transportation priority since I first came to Congress.  For almost 30 years, people in northwest Georgia have waited for easier access to I-75.  We took a huge step toward delivering that access today.

“Not only will the 411 Connector provide a direct path to I-75 for Bartow and Floyd counties, but the project will likely spur economic development in Bartow, Floyd, Chattooga, Polk and other surrounding counties.  The 411 Connector is a win-win project for northwest Georgia, and I’m glad my colleagues in the House saw its merit and included it in this year’s bill.”

The bill will now move to a joint House-Senate conference pending passage of the Senate version of the transportation bill.
