Washington, D.C. – Congressman Phil Gingrey today was named Co-Chair of the House Republican Conference’s Healthcare Public Affairs Team. The team – one of eight issue groups announced today – serves as the primary Republican communication resource on healthcare issues.
“Healthcare is a unique issue that affects every single American, from the youngest to the oldest,” said Gingrey. “We’re making it easier for people to understand what Republicans in Congress are doing to ensure healthcare is more affordable and accessible to all Americans.”
The Healthcare Public Affairs Team will focus on pressing healthcare issues like long-term care, patient safety, electronic medical records, preventative care, and medical malpractice civil justice reform.
House Republican Conference Chairman Deborah Pryce congratulated Gingrey on his chairmanship, saying, “As a physician, Congressman Gingrey is a logical choice to help lead this group. I look forward to his help communicating Republican solutions to the challenges facing healthcare.”
Congressman Gingrey will also serve on the Education and Career Opportunities Public Affairs Team.
