Gingrey praises Newnan business for aiding art winner

U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey applauded Newnan businesspeople Murray and Martha Ann Parks for their efforts to aid the 11th District high school art contest winner, Shanna Walston of Newnan High School.

“The Parks and their Newnan business, Panoply Interior Design and Consulting, are stepping forward and assuring that an excellent student will get to experience the trip of a lifetime,” Gingrey said. “I’m looking forward to Shanna’s trip up here next week; I’m proud to hang her artwork in the Capitol. Shanna’s work will represent the 11th District well.”

Panoply Inc. will award Shanna with $150 to cover expenses she’ll incur while she’s in Washington. Chiaha Arts & Crafts Guild of Rome contributed $500 to pay for her airfare and hotel costs.

“We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to Shanna’s trip to Washington,” Murray Parks said. “Panoply Interiors is highly interested in the arts, and we’re very proud of Shanna for winning the 11th District art contest.”

Panoply Inc. actively supports the Newnan-Coweta Arts Council.

Shanna will be in Washington Monday and Tuesday. She’ll meet with Rep. Gingrey Tuesday morning.
