U.S. REP. BOBBY L. RUSH STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF U.S. REP. JOHN P. MURTHA

CHICAGO - Today, Congressman Bobby L. Rush (D-IL01) released the following statement upon learning of the death of 77-year-old Congressman John P. Murtha (D-PA12):

"John was a great colleague and an even greater friend. On behalf of my wife Carolyn and the citizens of the 1st Congressional District of Illinois I extend sincere condolences to his family and constituents. The United States Congress, as an institution, has suffered a huge lost. Congressman Murtha was an outstanding American who served his country well. May God comfort his family and grant him eternal peace," Rush said.
