| Cummings to Bush: Enough is Enough | ||
|
Washington, D.C. — Today, following President Bush's speech to troops in Iraq, Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md) released the following statement: "When he is not trying to distract the American people with scare tactics to divert attention from his failed policies in Iraq, President Bush is taken to staging photo opportunities. This morning's trip to Iraq is no exception. Enough is enough. "As we approach yet another deadline for progress that will not be met on benchmarks that for the most part were established by the President himself during his January address this year, we should expect nothing less from an Administration that has repeatedly tried to avoid acknowledging the truth. "I call upon the President today to stop the games. No more moving target deadlines. No more scare tactics. No more photo opportunities. No more denying the truth. It is time to face the facts and stop spending $10 billion a month on a war we should never have started. It is time to responsibly re-deploy our troops." ### |
