  • The U.S. House met at 2:00 p.m. for legislative business with votes postponed until 6:30 p.m. Debated and voted on several pieces of legislation.
  • Spoke with United States Trade Representative Ambassador Ron Kirk regarding Japan and their Cash for Clunkers program.
  • Met with EU Director General for Trade to discuss international trade issues.
  • Attended Meeting with Democratic Members of the House to discuss health care reform legislation. 

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

  • The U.S. House met at 10:00 a.m. for legislative business. Debated and voted on several pieces of legislation including H.R. 4462, which would allow charitable contributions to victims of the earthquake in Haiti prior to March 1st to be claimed as an itemized charitable deduction on taxpayers’ 2009 tax return rather than their 2010 tax return.
  • Attended Meeting with Ways and Means Democrats.

Thursday, January 21, 2010

  • The U.S. House met at 10:00 a.m. for legislative business.  Debated and voted on several pieces of legislation including H.Res. 1021, Expressing Condolences to and Solidarity with the People of Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating Earthquake of January 12th, 2010.
    Attended Meeting with Democratic Members of the House to discuss health care reform legislation.
  • Met with Trade Subcommittee Staff to review the week's trade agenda and pending trade issues.

  • Spoke with organizers from the Michigan chapter of Health Care for America Now! regarding health care reform legislation.
