- The U.S. House met at 10:00 a.m. for Legislative Business. Debated and voted in favor of H.R. 3246, the Advanced Vehicle Technology Act of 2009 which would create a comprehensive national vehicle research and development program. Also began consideration of H.R. 3221, the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act.
- Met with French Minister of State for Foreign Trade regarding global trade issues.
- Met with representatives of BAE Systems Land and Armaments group, which is building a new facility in Sterling Heights that will bring several hundred new jobs to the area starting in 2012
- Attended Meeting of the Democratic Members of the House to discuss health care reform legislation.
- Met with the Independent Chinese PEN Center to discuss human rights and freedom of expression in China. Mr. Levin serves as co-chair of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (www.cecc.gov).
- Attended Meeting with Ways and Means Democrats to discuss health care reform legislation

Debated and voted in favor of H.R. 3221, the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act, which will raise the maximum Pell Grant award, simplify the student financial aid application process, and begin the community college initiative President Obama proposed while at Macomb Community College.
- Attended Meeting of the Democratic Members of the House to discuss health care reform legislation.
- Attended Meeting with Ways and Means Democrats to discuss health care reform legislation.
- Phone Call with Department of Labor Assistant Secretary Oates to discuss the States application for three regional training grants as well as the work of Macomb Community College in the area of training and re-training.
