Graves Praises Funding for Sixth District

(Washington, D.C) U.S. Congressman Sam Graves praised funding designated for the Sixth District in the Omnibus Appropriations Bill passed today by Congress. Graves was able to help secure funding for projects and organizations in the bill.

Projects included:
• $140,000 for Synergy Services in Parkville. The funding will be used by Synergy to provide for client advocates through the agency’s court service and bridge programs. Synergy is the only shelter for runaway and homeless youth in western Missouri.

• $660,000 for the Clay and Platte Communications Interoperability Project. The funding will be used for engineering and building extensive narrowband tactical communications infrastructure for Clay and Platte counties. This project will allow first responders and public safety agencies to communicate with one another

• $400,000 for Chouteau Parkway Conceptual Design. The funding will allow for design work on a vital two mile stretch of Chouteau Trafficway between Route 210 and Interstate 35. The design will likely begin conversion of the two-lane collector into a divided parkway.

• $1,000,000 for U.S 59/Alabama Separation Project. The funding will be used for design and construction of a bridge over the railroad tracks.

• $200,000 for NITRO. The funding will be used to help pay the salary and benefits of four officers over a two-year period for the Northwest Missouri Interagency Team Response Operation.

• $500,000 for Community Hospital-Fairfax. This funding will be used for facilities and equipment at the Community Hospital-Fairfax. This is a not for profit critical access hospital. The hospital is the primary healthcare provider for Atchison and Holt counties. It receives no funding from taxes and is supported through community gifting and paid medical services.

The funding still must be approved by Senate and approved by the President.
