Rehberg Announces Over $325,000 to MT Fire Departments
WASHINGTON, DC - Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, announced today that two Montana Fire Departments have been awarded over $325,000 in grants through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program. The Town of Hingham and the Chester Volunteer Fire Department will use the funding for operations and safety training and equipment purchases.

“Both of these fire departments are located in the heart of Montana farm country on the Hi-line.  Ensuring they are able to safely protect local ranches and farms is important,” said Rehberg, a member of the House Appropriations committee. “I am pleased these two local fire departments have been awarded this funding.”

The Town of Hingham received $299,915, and the Chester Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $24,966.

“This type of grant helps out the little guys – the small, local, volunteer departments in Montana,” Rehberg said. “All fire departments play an important role, but a state with large rural areas such as Montana has, the small departments can’t be left out.”
