| Washington, D.C. — Congressman Walter B. Jones (R-NC)
today is touring hurricane-stricken Eastern North Carolina.
“All of us in Eastern North Carolina have felt the effects of Hurricane Dennis and now Hurricane Floyd,” Jones said. “Now, it is critical that we carefully assess the damage in order to ensure the State receives the assistance necessary to help us begin to repair our homes and our communities.” In order to evaluate the extent of the destruction and continued flooding in the Third District, Congressman Jones is flying with the United States Coast Guard to view the areas most effected by the storm. “I am anxious to better evaluate the damage myself so that I can report back to FEMA and the State, so we can continue working together to accelerate relief efforts to the families and individuals who have been hardest hit by Hurricane Floyd.” |
