Congressman Higgins’ Office Completes 116 Congress on Your Corner Sites in 2009, Plans 133 Sites in 2010 |

Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27) reported that his office held Congress on Your Corner satellite office events 116 times at locations throughout Chautauqua County in 2009. The program provides residents with satellite hours at local town halls, fire departments, senior centers and other sites in an effort to expand accessibility. Another 133 Congress on Your Corner events are planed for this year.
“Chautauqua County stretches across more than 1,000 square miles and coming to our office in Jamestown can be difficult for some people so we come to you,” said Congressman Higgins. “We are proud to have hosted over 600 Congress on Your Corner events in Chautauqua County in the last 5 years alone and find that people appreciate having direct access to our office right in their neighborhood.”
During Congress on Your Corner constituents have the opportunity to talk directly with someone from Congressman Higgins’ office about issues related to Social Security, the Veteran’s Administration, passport issues, or any other federal matters they may need assistance with.
The January “Congress on Your Corner” schedule will be as follows:
Wednesday, January 20

1:00pm-3:00pm- Findley Lake Community Center, 2883 North Road
Friday, January 22
9:00am-11:00am- Forestville Fire Hall, Municipal Building, 18 Chestnut Street
11:30am-12:00pm- Sinclairville Fire Hall, 30 Naub Street
Tuesday, January 26
11:30am-12:00pm- Westfield YWCA, 58 South Portage Street
Residents are encouraged to visit a satellite site to share their concerns, questions, and ides with a representative from Congressman Higgins’ office. Residents can also continue to reach Congressman Higgins’ permanent office in Chautauqua County from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday at 2 East Second Street in Jamestown.
