Congressman Higgins Presents Local WWII Vet with Service Medals

At the conclusion of Veterans’ Week, Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27) presented Stephen Skowron with the six medals he earned for his service and bravery during World War II. Mr. Skowron, who served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 through 1946, received the WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign with three bronze stars, Navy Occupation Service Medal with Asia Clasp, Discharge Button and Honorable Service Lapel Pin. Mr. Skowron resides in South Buffalo.
