| Funding is requested for the final purchase of a recently completed two-story, 30,000-square-foot facility on Post Road in Warwick. The Kent Center is a community-based provider of behavioral health care for mental illness, substance abuse and psychological trauma. This building purchase will help secure the financial future of the center and will result in the promotion of better healthcare for the community and significant long-term savings for the taxpayer. Without the center’s services, its clients often end up in institutional care, become incarcerated or endure repeated hospitalization, all of which are extremely expensive and funded by taxpayers. | |
