| This funding will be used to support the activities of Better Shred, which is a business enterprise of CranstonArc. CranstonArc provides children and adults with developmental disabilities the means to lead full and productive lives. Better Shred was established to meet the growing need for safe and secure destruction of sensitive documents, and to provide a source of employment opportunities for adults with developmental and related disabilities. Funding for this program would help create “green collar” jobs for individuals who are traditionally underemployed and support the development of an education program geared towards recycling and going green for local businesses. This project works to divert materials from local landfills, create new jobs and decrease ARC reliance on state funding. | |
