LANGEVIN TO LEAD FLOOR DEBATE ON PRESCRIPTION DRUG ISSUE

Congress Expected to Consider ‘Made for Harvard Pilgrim’
Prescription Drug Plan This Week

Langevin, Colleagues Fighting for a Prescription Drug Plan that Provides Real Savings to Older Americans

(Washington, D.C.)–Congressman Jim Langevin will lead a Special Order Floor Debate on the affordability of Prescription Drugs this evening at approximately 9:00 p.m.  The floor proceedings may be viewed live on C-Span, Channel 31 on most cable stations in Rhode Island.

Earlier today, Langevin joined with the Rhode Island Academy of Family Physicians in announcing the results of a survey, which revealed that seniors are skipping medications, are unable to afford their medications and rely upon physician samples to maintain their health.

Langevin will be joined this evening by a number of his Democratic colleagues as they push for legislation that would provide substantial medication savings for our seniors, rather than higher profit margins for drug and insurance companies.
