Health Care Budget Reconciliation Begins |
|
|
WARWICK, RI - Congressman Jim Langevin today began the final push for health insurance reform as a member of the House Committee on the Budget. “We are closer than we have been in decades to addressing the growing health care crisis and making our system operate more effectively for all Americans,” said Langevin. “Passage of a reconciliation bill by the Budget Committee represents one of the final steps toward a simple up or down on vote on health reform. Americans are tired of the rhetoric and are ready for Congress to act. That action begins today.” During consideration of the reconciliation bill in the House Budget Committee this afternoon, Langevin will join his colleagues in debating various issues pertaining to health care and education reform. A final vote will also take place that will report the bill to the Rules Committee for its consideration in the House of Representatives. -30- |
