(Warwick, R.I.) Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI), member of the House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees, today reacted to North Korea's launch of seven missiles, including the failed launch of a Taepodong-2 long-range missile: “I have strongly supported efforts of the United States to engage in diplomatic negotiations to end North Korea's nuclear program peacefully, but its provocative decision to test its missile program demonstrates its unwillingness to act responsibly. “The failure of the Taepodong-2 missile test will likely encourage the North Koreans to correct the problems learned from Tuesday’s launch, and the international community must remain committed to working quickly to address this problem.” -30- | |
