Langevin Visits URI Campus 

 

 

(Warwick, R.I.) - Congressman Jim Langevin will visit with students, faculty and administrators at the University of Rhode Island’s Kingston Campus on Thursday, February 21.

 “I am looking forward to meeting with members of the URI community and receiving an update on their activities,” said Langevin. “I am especially interested to learn about the ongoing research at the College of Environment and Life Sciences.” 

Specifically, Langevin will listen to presentations on the:
• Tick-Borne Disease Prevention program that works to mitigate the devastating impact of tick-transmitted diseases, including Lyme disease, on public health and the economy in Rhode Island and the Northeast region.
• Environmental Biotechnology initiative, which will allow for the procurement of core laboratory facilities equipment in the Center for Biotechnology and Life Sciences
