(Warwick, R.I.)– Congressman Jim Langevin today released the following statement on the Virginia Tech shootings:

“I know I join the nation in expressing my deepest sympathy to all those affected by yesterday’s senseless tragedy at Virginia Tech. As we wait to hear the findings of the investigation, I am optimistic we can unite as a community to continue the important task of reducing gun violence.

“I am also profoundly saddened to learn that native Rhode Islander, Daniel O'Neil, lost his life in this violent act. May we keep Daniel’s loved ones in our thoughts and prayers as they struggle to endure this difficult period.”
