(Washington, DC) - Sixth District Congressman James E. Clyburn is pleased to announce that five housing counseling agencies in his district will share $176,182 in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants. The agencies and grant awards are as follows:

These grants are part of the Housing Counseling Program intended to provide housing counseling for one year to homebuyers, homeowners, and renters.
“This federal investment will educate many Sixth District residents on issues regarding housing whether they are a homeowner or want to become one in the future,” Congressman Clyburn said. “The counseling they receive will be the foundation to attain or retain their American dream.”
These awards are competitive and funded under the FY 2003 HUD Appropriations Act. A total of $37.56 million has been awarded to 440 organizations nationwide.
