CONGRESSWOMAN JOHNSON TO HOLD WOMEN'S INTERCULTURAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

WHAT:      Panel discussion of the role of women in international economic development and methods to increase the integration of women’s participation in leadership roles with regards to global conflict resolution, world’s polarity dynamic, sustainability of globalization.

WHY:         Women’s Intercultural Leadership Conference originated through Congresswoman Johnson’s World of Women for World Peace Initiative which was founded in 2001. A World of Women for World Peace is an internationally recognized initiative to bring greater visibility to the women who are the victims of war and aggression and the women who take on the peacemaking, peacekeeping and peace-building activities in their communities. 

                   Congresswoman Johnson firmly believes that the burden of peacemaking and peace building cannot be left to one institution, gender, or political party.  It must be a shared responsibility that encompasses all, regardless of race, class, gender or religion.
 
 
U.S. Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson is the highest-ranking Texan on the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure and a senior member of the Science Committee. She represents the 30th Congressional District of Texas, which, includes Downtown Dallas, Fair Park, Oak Lawn, Old East Dallas, Pleasant Grove, & South Oak Cliff; all of  Balch Springs, DeSoto, Hutchins, Lancaster & Wilmer and parts of Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Ferris, Glenn Heights and Ovilla.
