Statement on the Senate Armed Services Committee Mark-up of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013
5/24/2012 - Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo today issued the following statement in response to the Senate Armed Services Committee’s completion of the mark-up for its version of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013. The full text of the bill has not been made public; however, Chairman Carl Levin and Ranking Member John McCain held a press conference today to address some the most important provisions included in their mark. The bill now heads to the full Senate for further consideration. No date has been agreed upon by Senate leadership on when the bill might receive consideration.
USDA Provides $332,411 to Guam for Pest, Plant Disease Management
5/24/2012 - Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has provided $332,411 to Guam for plant health management and the prevention of pests and spread of plant diseases. This funding includes $221,607 for coconut Rhinoceros Beetle Eradication, and $110,804 for the Customs Biosecurity Initiative.
