Chairman Rahall and Chairwoman Bordallo Request Meeting with DHS Secretary Napolitano

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 17, 2009 – Washington, D.C. –

Chairman Nick J. Rahall of the House Natural Resources Committee and Chairwoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo of the Subcommittee on Insular Affairs, Wildlife and Oceans sent a joint letter requesting a meeting with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to discuss the implementation of P.L. 110-229 in the region. The meeting between Secretary Napolitano, Chairman Rahall and Chairwoman Bordallo has been scheduled for next week.

“As the Chairwoman of the Subcommittee with jurisdiction over the territories, I will join Chairman Rahall to update and share concerns with Secretary Napolitano on the Consolidated Natural Resources Act of 2008,” Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo said today. “Given that Chairman Rahall recently lead a Congressional Delegation to Guam last month, this is an important opportunity for Secretary Napolitano to hear about the views of our community.”
