Houston, TX - U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady today joined Houston Mayor Bill White, Governor Rick Perry, and Citgo Corporation President and CEO, Luis Marin at a press conference in Houston to announce the relocation of Citgo Petroleum Corporation’s head quarters to Houston.
“Citgo’s decision to settle their headquarters in Houston -- the energy capital of the world – is welcome news and affirms our region’s commitment to attracting top industries and jobs.
“Citgo’s move sends a clear message to other industries that Texas and Houston are open for business. Low taxes, a skilled workforce, good schools, and excellent neighborhoods make our region a great place to call home and do business.” Brady stated.
The relocation will begin this summer and will take approximately two years to complete. Citgo had been headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Citgo’s move brings with it about 700 new jobs for the Houston region. Citgo is the world's fifth-largest oil exporter and the fourth-largest gasoline retailer in the United States, employing about 4,300 people nationwide.
