109th Congress Convenes

Congressman Kevin Brady Sworn Into Fifth Term

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands) took the oath of office today for a fifth term as the Eighth Congressional District of Texas’ Representative as the 109th Congress convened in Washington, D.C. at noon.  Congressman Brady was administered the oath of Office by the Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.  

 

Congressman Brady’s oldest son, Will, traveled with his father to Washington to witness first hand the day’s events.  Shortly after taking the oath of office Congressman Brady issued the following statement:

 

“It is a humble privilege and honor to serve the people of the Eighth Congressional District of Texas and represent their values and views in Congress. 

 

“The policies this Congress implements will directly affect generations of Americans.  From Social Security and income tax reform to securing our borders and continuing to wage and effective War on Terror, the voices of the eighth district will continue to be heard on Capitol Hill.”
