Brady Secures Funding for Tomball Regional Hospital

$250,000 Will Help Develop“Heart Center

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands) announced today that he has secured $250,000 in the 2005 Omnibus Appropriations Bill to help Tomball Regional Hospital underwrite the development of a new cardiac catheterization lab at the recently opened Robert F. Scharper Heart Center.

Tomball Regional Hospital provides outstanding care for thousands of residents in our region.  The funding provided today will help ensure Tomball Regional is able to continue to provide life saving, highly advanced specialty care to our region’s heart patients,” said Brady.

Early this week Tomball Regional Hospital opened the doors of the Robert S. Sharper Heart Center to its first patient.  A community open house is slated for mid-January.

Tomball Regional Hospital is the major provider of hospital services to the approximately 290,000 citizens of Tomball and its surrounding service area.

Currently more than 80% of cardiac care patients are being forced to seek care outside the service area due to the lack of the latest technology necessary to serve the patients, cardiologists, and cardiac surgeons at Tomball Regional Hospital.

As part of Tomball Regional Hospital’s mission to provide the highest quality of health care, they are embarking on the process of building a new cardiac catheterization lab in the new Robert F. Scharper Heart Center within the hospital.

Today’s announcement will help bring the Robert S. Sharper Heart Center at Tomball Regional Hospital nearer to completion.
