Democrats Should Stop Playing Politics with our Children’s Health Care
Washington, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) released the following statement today after President Bush vetoed congressional Democrats’ latest version of the federal program to fund children’s health insurance:
"Perhaps the President's veto today will convince Democrats to stop playing politics with our children's health care and sit down with Republicans to work out a reasonable, fiscally responsible solution.I'm a big supporter of CHIP but this bill is terribly flawed - it doesn't cover poor children first, it's only half-paid for and it allows the worst abuses in this program to continue."
