Brady Announces Federal Funding for San Jacinto County Constable’s Office Precinct 4
Department of Homeland Security grant will purchase equipment to aid local law enforcement

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands) announced today that the San Jacinto County Constable’s Office Precinct 4 has been awarded an $11,794 federal grant from the Department of Homeland Security’s 2007 Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program (CEDAP).  This grant will help local law enforcement purchase new advanced thermal imaging equipment.

“Federal grants make access to state of the art equipment a reality for many of our smaller communities. This funding will help ensure Constable Roger’s Office has the right equipment to apprehend criminals in cases where they may otherwise not be found,” said Brady.

Thermal imagers assist our law enforcement professionals by allowing them to locate criminals by their body heat, giving them an advantage over regular night vision equipment

“We are so grateful to have been chosen to receive this grant, as it will enable our office to do a better job of protecting citizens and by tracking down criminals. I would like to thank Deputy Constable Faye Adams for all of her hard work in pursuing this grant; she is an invaluable asset to San Jacinto County,” said Precinct 4 Constable Lou Rogers.

The goal of the CEDAP program is to strengthen the nation’s level of preparedness by awarding money to law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and emergency medical service providers. In 2007, over $30 million will be provided to law enforcement and emergency responder agencies across the nation.
