BRADY TO WEAR BUNA COUGARS UNIFORM IN CONGRESSIONAL BASEBALL GAME
Annual Tradition in 47th Year

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) will wear the uniform of the Buna High School Cougars baseball team in the 47th Annual Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game.

The Capitol Hill tradition, begun in 1909 and held annually since 1962, pits Republicans against Democrats and will be played July 17 at National Park in Washington, DC.

Brady, who played college baseball and on two high school state championship teams, is the lead-off hitter and second baseman for the GOP. In 2005 he was named MVP for the Republicans, who have won ten of the last 11 games.

“I am proud to wear the uniform of the Buna Cougars who made the community and our region proud with their great season and trip to the state 2A semi-finals”, said Brady. “If I can play half as hard as Coach Terrier had his team playing, I’ll be pleased.”

Proceeds from the game benefit the Washington Literacy Council and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.
