The following is a statement on House Resolution 525 - Providing for Review by the Committee on the Judiciary of a Communication from an Independent Counsel :

"The House of Representatives is committed to a responsible, open and bi-partisan effort to address the Independent Counsel's report properly while remaining focused on preserving Social Security, cutting wasteful spending, and providing tax relief for families.

If articles of impeachment are forwarded by the House Judiciary Committee, I intend to fulfill my constitutional responsibility to act as a fair and thoughtful juror, to weigh the evidence against the charges, and cast my vote without regard to polls, the party or conjecture about any future presidential race."
