STOCK Act passes overwhelmingly; Line-Item Veto legislation; Budget and accounting transparency legislation; Mass. and other states granted waivers from No Child Left Behind
02/08 RECENT VOTES: LINE-ITEM VETO AUTHORITY
H.R. 3521: Expedited Line-Item Veto and Rescissions Act
This legislation would grant the President line-item veto power on spending bills. I voted against it because in 1998 the Supreme Court ruled that line-item vetos were unconstitutional.
1/30 PRESS RELEASE: CAPUANO HONORED
Congressman Capuano Awarded Order of Merit of the Italian Republic
Rep. Capuano was honored by the Italian government and presented with the rank of Commendatore, the third highest title in the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, in a ceremony at the residence of Giuseppe Pastorelli, Consul General of Italy in Boston.

Capuano Urges SEC to Take Action Regarding Citizens United Decision
Rep. Mike Capuano has written to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) urging that the agency establish rules requiring a shareholder vote before corporate general treasury funds are used for political campaigns.
