Situated on the scenic Missouri River, the Fifth Congressional District of Missouri is located on the western edge of the state, on the border with Kansas.

Centered on the Kansas City metropolitan area, the Fifth District also encompasses portions of Cass County and Jackson County. Aside from Kansas City, the 5th also includes the cities of Independence, Raytown, Lee’s Summit, Grandview, Raymore, Peculiar and Belton; as well as Sugar Creek, Unity Village, Greenwood and Lone Jack.
