Second Session of the 113th Congress

On January 3, 2014, the U.S. House of Representatives convened to start its second session of the 113th Congress. Known as the People’s House, the House is comprised of 435 Members, 5 Delegates and 1 Resident Commissioner. The number of Members from each state is based on the population of that state.  To see when the House is in session, access the 2014 House schedule online.

Extensive renovation work to the U.S. Capitol Dome will also begin in 2014. The work to restore the Dome will take two years during which time it will be wrapped in scaffolding.  The Architect of the Capitol is in charge of the massive renovation project.
