Key Issue: Health Care
Everyone agrees America’s health care system needs reform.
But the health care bill passed in the last Congress is the worst of all worlds. It has resulted in higher premiums and will increase taxes and federal spending. It has stifled job growth in a suffering economy and, according to a study by the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the employer mandate alone could lead to the elimination of 1.6 million jobs, with 66 percent of those coming from small businesses.
I don’t believe that’s what Americans want.
I believe a better-functioning, more-competitive and transparent marketplace would cover more people and deliver the higher quality care we seek.
