Job Summary:  Incumbent serves as an Auditor responsible for the day-to-day accomplishment of assigned audit tasks required in evaluating U.S. House of Representatives activities.

 

Major Duties:  Performs work within the assigned audit area, reviewing identified areas, executing audit approaches, and identifying audit findings and making recommendations for corrective action.  Performs information systems audits of general and application controls, data integrity, system development life cycle, acquisitions, Information Resources Management, etc.  Assists in the use of Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs), using audit software packages to extract and analyze data from client databases and analyze software programs.  Plans, organizes, and monitors out-sourced audits and the daily operations of contractor audit staff teams.  Assists in proposing short- and long-range information systems audit plans and priorities for the OIG and assists in initiating actions to improve Information Systems audit coverage, quality, effectiveness, and the usefulness of audit reports.

 

Requirements:  Bachelor degree in any academic discipline and experience in information systems auditing and analysis.  Information systems, computer science, accounting, or business degrees are preferred.  Applicants should have demonstrated experience with a variety of computer hardware and software platforms, networking, information security practices, telecommunications technology, CAATS tools, and knowledge of Government Auditing Standards.  Must have skill in (i) establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with high-ranking officials and (ii) effective oral and written communications.  Final grade level and step within grade to be determined by applicant’s educational background, information systems auditing experience, and proficiency.

 

Security Clearance:  The selectee will be required to undergo a background investigation for a Secret Clearance, if he/she does not already possess one.  Continued employment is contingent upon the selectee being granted the clearance.
