One of my highest priorities as the U.S. Congressman representing Congress must work together for a new direction in security for the American people and I will continue to fight for legislation that will do so. I am also troubled many of the security machines in airports around the country still have not been updated to the specifications the commission recommended. This worries me a great deal, and it is unacceptable that gaps in our security infrastructure still exist. We must also protect our homeland by protecting our borders and inspecting the cargo coming in through our seaports. These and other security measures that exist will require patience on all of our behalf, and while these procedures may at times seem bothersome, we must always keep in mind that they are in place for the safety of the American people. |
