As your Congresswoman, my job is to not only represent my constituents, but assist you in all matters pertaining to the federal government. Because it may not always be clear how a Congressional Office can provide you support, I would like to elaborate on the services handled in my District Offices.
We have two District Offices. The first is located at 10100 Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines City Hall, and the second is located at 19200 West Country Club Drive in the Aventura City Hall. We are open from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., walk-ins are welcome.
Feel free to contact my:
- Pembroke Pines office at: 954-437-3936 or my Aventura office at: 305-936-5724.
Similar to our Washington, DC Office, the District Offices are comprised of congressional staffers with professional expertise in numerous federal programs. For example, I have one Constituent Case Manager who dedicates her work day to assisting constituents with issues pertaining to immigration and passports. A second Constituent Case Worker manages all cases relating to veterans’ affairs, social security and health care. Other services provided by our two district offices include grant information and American flag requests. In addition, our staff arranges White House, Capitol, Bureau of Engraving and Printing (paper money), and Supreme Court tours. Provided ample notice is given, especially during peak times such as Spring Break, Summer, and Winter holidays, we can help you if you are planning to visit Washington, D.C.
While we are happy to help you with all federal issues, please keep in mind that my office cannot intervene in legal matters. My office can, however, expedite information in cases where the disabled are facing immediate foreclosure and/or eviction, or cases pertaining to terminally ill patients. With that said, no matter what your issue with the federal government or any of level of government, my office will be more than happy to provide you with the proper guidance to help you with your concerns. Please consider our District Offices as a general resource to you.
Community outreach is also a vital component of the District Offices. An issue of paramount importance to me is community networking, and linking members of the community who need assistance with those who can provide it. When constituents have ideas as to how they can improve our community, we can provide suggestions for turning those ideas into reality. Through my G.I.F.T program, which stands for “Get It Fixed Today”, we have proven how a variety of groups can help one another. For instance, when the Hamilton House, an adult assisted living facility in our community, needed books to fill the shelves of its library, my office reached out to Central Park Elementary School in Plantation who held a book drive and collected over 1,000 books for the center! As your Representative in Congress, I am proud to have sponsored several other G.I.F.T. programs and I am always looking for new ideas.
Your questions, thoughts, and concerns are important to me. Please do not hesitate to let me know of any problems or issues you consider significant.
