Flint: Kildee announces federal grant to be used for improving adult education
Michigan residents could have more opportunity to improve their education and job skills through a $3-million federal grant.
It was the largest grant awarded under the Workforce Investment Act, a collaboration of the departments of Labor and Education. The money is for adult education, vocational education and job training.
The state qualified for the incentive grant by exceeding performance levels and standards established by federal law, said U.S. Rep. Dale E. Kildee, who announced the grant.
The state still must complete paperwork describing how it will use the dollars to receive the money.
