Two more grants are headed to Genesee County for Head Start Programming, bringing the total federal funding to more than $10 million. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently awarded $5 million to fund Head Start handicapped training and technical assistance and another $1.3 million for early Head Start.
Earlier last month, a $3.9-million grant for Head Start was announced.
All the grants go to Genesee County Community Action Resource Department to provide assistance to low-income children and their families.
All three grants were announced by U.S. Rep. Dale E. Kildee, D-Flint.
