| Genesee County Intermediate School District will expand its physical education program with a federal grant.
The intermediate school district will receive a $372,753 grant from the U.S. Department of Education. It will provide new equipment and training for teachers about physical education activities.
The program is designed to expand and improve physical education programs for K-12 students to help them meet state standards for physical education.
"This funding will help students develop healthy habits by providing them with new equipment and support to encourage them to actively participate in physical education activities," said U.S. Rep. Dale E. Kildee, D-Flint, who announced the grant.
