The postseason honors continue for Flint's Mark Ingram, whose resume already includes the Heisman Trophy and college football's national championship.
Congressman Dale E. Kildee, D-Flint, will introduce a resolution to the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday honoring Ingram for his athletic and academic achievements.
"I join the people of Flint in taking great pride in Mark Ingram's exceptional performance on the field, his dedication to academic excellence and his distinction as the most outstanding player in college football," Kildee said in a statement.
Kildee will lead floor debate on the resolution before it's voted on by the House.
Ingram, a Flint Southwestern graduate, is a sophomore running back at Alabama. He won the Heisman in the closest voting ever, then was named the Offensive MVP after leading the Crimson Tide to a 37-21 win over Texas in the national title game.
Ingram also is an honors student at Alabama who's on pace to graduate in three years. |
