Two mid-Michigan congressmen have voted to pump $2.25 billion into a solar research and development initiative.
The U.S. House, which passed the legislation in a 310-106 bill last week, heads to the U.S. Senate. U.S. Reps. Dave Camp, a Midland Republican, and Dale E. Kildee, a Flint Democrat, voted for the package.
The bill would create at least an 11-member committee of technological, scientific, academic and government leaders to study the near- and long-term future of solar energy, said Lauren Phillips, a Camp spokesman. |
