Delphi Corp. and General Motors Corp. workers and retirees can let Congress know how they feel.
In an e-hearing launched this week, Congress is looking for testimony from employees or retirees of Delphi or GM about how proposed pay, pension and health care changes at those companies may impact their lives.
U.S. Rep. Dale E. Kildee, a Flint Democrat, along with other Democrats on the House Committee of Education and the Workforce are sponsoring the hearing.
The e-hearing, titled "The American Auto Industry in Crisis: The Threat to the Middle Class Jobs, Wages, Health Care and Pensions," aims to gather information and create a record about events unfolding at Delphi and GM.
Statements by members of Congress, union, company leaders and community representatives are posted on the e-hearing Web site edworkforce.house.gov/democrats/autocrisis.html.
Auto workers and retirees may submit statements of 500 words or less until Thursday to autocrisis@mail.house.gov. Testimony may appear as online posts.
Those submitting statements must include their names, addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses to have their views placed in the record.
