Ross Sworn in for Fourth Term in Congress

Arkansas’s Fourth District Congressman

Humbled by Opportunity to Serve

(Washington, D.C.) Using the Bible his parents gave him as a senior in high school, U. S. Representative Mike Ross (D-04) Thursday was officially sworn in to the United States House of Representatives to represent Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District for a fourth term. Ross was joined by his daughter, Sydney, as he took the oath of office to serve in the 110th Congress, where he renewed his promise to continue fighting for the working families, seniors and children of Arkansas.

“It has been an honor to serve the people of Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District at our nation’s capitol, and I am humbled for this opportunity to serve you for another term,” Ross said.

“While we have made great progress together over the last six years, there is much more we must do. We must clean up the mess in Washington and restore America’s confidence in their elected officials. It’s time to make health care and a college education more affordable. We must put America on a path towards energy independence which will bring an economic revival to Arkansas’s Delta Region. And it’s time that we help 13 million Americans who are working full time by raising the minimum wage so they don’t have to struggle to raise a family.”

Ross serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and was also elected Co-Chair for Communications for the fiscally conservative, Democratic Blue Dog Coalition for the 110th Congress.

“I want to continue to provide a new generation of leadership that will restore common sense and accountability to our nation’s government,” Ross said. “I will fight to ensure that our new Democratic majority will not be about getting even, but about getting ahead for America’s working families, seniors and children.”
