September 14, 2005—Earlier today, Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ) joined forces with Congressman John Carter (R-TX) to host a rally in support of Judge John G. Roberts.  Franks stood alongside 15 other House Members in a call for the swift and fair confirmation of John Roberts for Chief Justice of the United States.

Franks had this to say:

“Thankfully, President George W. Bush has nominated an individual in John G. Roberts who has proven to be a man of judicial fealty and a man the American people will come to know and respect.” Franks went on to say, “Americans want to respect our judges but we also want our judges to respect the Constitution.”

The Congressional members were joined by vigilant Roberts’ supporters and volunteers from across the nation who had descended on Capitol Hill for the Senate nomination hearings.

Trent Franks is the Congressman from the 2nd Congressional District of Arizona.  He is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the House Judiciary Committee and Vice Chairman of the Constitution Subcommittee.
