Congressman Franks has been notified by the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in his home state of Arizona that the al-Jazeera news network intends to film a one-hour special at the Arizona/Mexico border.  He was also informed that their intention is to highlight the extent of America’s unsecured southern border with Mexico. 

“It is insane policy to allow al-Jazeera to film Arizona’s unsecured border with Mexico and then broadcast it to the very people who perpetrated 9/11,” said Franks. 

He went on to say that the al-Jazeera network has been known to broadcast messages from the al Qaeda leadership to their terrorist cells across the globe.  They have also been kicked out of Iraq for violations of proper security protocol.

“We cherish and protect our First Amendment rights in America, but this is an unacceptable level of national security risk,” said Franks.
